Best basic settings (start here)

1. Mic placement: 6–10 inches away, slightly off to the side.
2. Gain: lower it until you’re not clipping on loud words.
3. Discord: try turning off automatic gain control if your volume “pumps.”
4. OBS filters: add (1) Noise Suppression, (2) Noise Gate, (3) Compressor.

Quick troubleshoot

• If you sound “boomy,” move the mic slightly farther away.
• If keyboard is loud, lower gain and move the mic closer to your mouth.
